Yann Guichard won the second leg of the MOD70 Europeaan Tour between Dun Laoghaire et Cascais today (Wednesday). The crew of Spindrift racing finished just three quarts of an hour ahead of Michel Desjoyeaux, who was closely followed by Musandam-Oman Sail and Groupe Edmond de Rothschild. This was a very tight finish between the first four boats, after experiencing a wide range of conditions with some upwind sailing in strong conditions along the coast of Ireland, a lively voyage south reaching, before downwind sailing in the Celtic Sea and Bay of Biscay. The final stretch to Cascais was magnificent with winds sometimes in excess of thirty knots… at least until they reached the Tage estuary. Yann Guichard moves up to first place in the overall rankings.
